Dear Friends and Sponsors of Operation Ecuador!
It is a blessing to be able to greet you brothers and sisters who share the same goals and values as those found in God's Word and who have a heart for the mission work in Ecuador. We are hoping you are already aware that the Southwest Church of Christ in Pueblo , Colorado has been given the honor of hosting the annual stateside Operation Ecuador Meeting this year on July 25-26. This is the 25th, Silver Anniversary, of this historic mission and Kent has asked that we host the meeting where it all began in Pueblo back in 1989.
As is the norm for this meeting, the activities will begin just after noon on Friday, July 25, and will continue through early afternoon on Saturday, July 26. We would like to invite you to be in attendance for this annual meeting for updated information on all the expanding ministries of Operation Ecuador. We would also encourage you to make plans, if possible, to stay and worship with us on the Lord's Day. Kent and Joshua Marcum will be speaking that morning. We have an early service at 8:00 A.M., Bible class at 9:30 A.M., and a second service at 10:30 A.M.
We are looking forward to having brethren who love the work of Operation Ecuador here in our congregation and we hope that you can make your plans to attend. We have reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western hotel, but that hold will only remain in place until June 25. We would encourage you to make reservations as soon as possible because there is a Little Britches Rodeo in Pueblo the weekend of our meeting. The local phone number is 719-543-4644. Cheryl Morenz, the general manager, quoted rates of $85.00 per night for a King or double Queen. If desired, we will also have some members who could open their homes to you as an alternative to the hotel. While Pueblo does have a regional airport, our recommendation would be for you to fly in and out of Colorado Springs (COS).
Considering that you will perhaps be traveling longer distances than usual for this meeting, you may wish to make a vacation of it by arriving some days earlier and/or staying later. (For some of you this is just North Texas!) Less than an hour from Pueblo are the towns of Colorado Springs and Canyon City, hubs of tourist activities. Check out these websites for local area activities.

Also, we are planning a group outing to ride the Royal Gorge train on Saturday afternoon. It is nearly a one hour drive from Pueblo so we'll be taking the church bus and carpooling to shuttle all who want to attend. The cost per adult is $33 and $23 per child 3 - 12. (Sorry, everyone will be “on their own nickel” for the Saturday afternoon and evening outings.) You will need to make that train reservation by calling 1-719-276-4000 for the COACH train ride at 3:30 P.M. You must identify yourself with the group number 246241 to get that group rate. If you wish to view their website see:

We are excited about this opportunity to be with you here in Pueblo. Please inform us of your intentions to attend as well as your interest in the train ride. We need to know how many meeting attendees, how many nights you are staying, how many adults and children will ride the train, and a contact phone number. If you have questions, feel free to call or email me.
For His glory and honor
